Giants star quarterback Jaxson Dart will likely play today, despite suffering an injury scare during the Aug. 15 preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings. Meanwhile, the Jets’ head coach Aaron Glenn is sitting their new quarterback, Geno Smith, and starting one of his backups, either Cade Klubnik, Bailey Zappe or Brady Cook.
Offensive coordinator Frank Reich is not concerned about other players rising to the occasion while Smith is on the bench.
“Cade is, you know, listen, whatever decision’s going to be made will be made and that’ll be made by A.G. and [Mougey], right?” he said. “But Cade has done well. He’s done well, and it’s a really good dynamic in that room. It’s a really good dynamic in that room.”
Both teams are coming off a victory. The Jets defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-0 on Aug. 21, while the Giants won against the Miami Dolphins 26-3 on Aug. 22.
The Giants v. Jets game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. EST tonight, Aug. 28.
