A trucking carrying over 50,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer has vanished from Montclair, California, according to the iconic beer company.
The missing shipment was last seen on August 17 when it failed to arrive at its delivery appointment. The truck was carrying 1,602 cases of beer — a total of 50,000 cans, weighing 40,000 pounds.
The company issued a stark warning to the booze bandits in an August 21 Instagram post, and said they will offer a reward to anyone who can provide information on the truck’s whereabouts.
“To the thief: we don’t fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how much PBR you have, we just wish you obtained it the honorable way,” they wrote.
“Pabst is officially starting the clock now – you have exactly 18 days and 44 minutes to return our truck, no questions asked. Leading up to that time, we will be offering a reward to anyone who can help us solve this mystery.”
The company did not detail what reward they would offer, or why they set that specific timeline. The Instagram post included a timeline of events of the robbery, saying they filed a police report.
Valued at around $45,000, the shipment was last seen at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in the 4500 block of Brooks Street on Aug. 17, Montclair Police told The Mercury News.
The shipment contained 1,400 cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and nearly 200 cases of Old Milwaukee Non-Alcoholic Beer, according to PBR. “A subcontractor was scheduled to deliver the alcohol, but the truck never reached its destination, police told the outlet.
Fans cracked jokes about the missing booze in the comments of Pabst’s post.
“Flock cameras can’t even do their job,” one commenter wrote.
“It’s a missing truck of empties and it’s in my driveway,” another said.
“Keys were in it. My bad,” a third commenter wrote.
In the post, the company said they “don’t know” exactly what the truck looks like. “We realize how ridiculous that sounds, but it’s the truth,” they wrote.

In an August 28 statement to Men’s Journal, the company said they are working with local authorities to recover the truck.
“We also appreciate all the individuals who have been sharing possible sightings of the truck,” a Pabst spokesperson told the outlet.
“At this time, we don’t have any further information to share beyond what was released in the Police report. We hope that whoever managed to steal our truck also knows the importance of keeping beer cold.”
The California Post reached out to the Montclair Police Department for comment.
