On Netflix, we can’t wait to watch Robert De Niro and Adam Scott in The Whisper Man, a new thriller about a man searching for his missing son. On Hulu, a new season of Adults premiered this week, and on Apple TV, the great, underrated series Dark Matter is back, too.

In the new Netflix original film The Whisper Man, Adam Scott stars as a widower named Tom Kennedy whose young son goes missing. Tom works with a detective – who also happens to be his estranged father, played by Robert De Niro – to look into the kidnapping. On Hulu, the popular sitcom Adults returns this week, too. Adults Season 2 premiered on Thursday on Hulu and FXX. All eight new episodes are currently on Hulu, while two episodes will air each week on FXX. And on Apple TV, catch Joel Edgerton in the sci-fi series Dark Matter, about a man who is kidnapped and sent to live an alternate version of his life.
The Whisper Man is a new Netflix movie based on the novel by Alex North about a crime writer (Adam Scott) whose son is kidnapped. He reluctantly reaches out to his father (Robert De Niro), a former detective, when he realizes that there are connections between this case and a case his father solved years earlier involving a serial killer known as the Whisper Man. Michelle Monaghan, Michael Keaton and Hamish Linklater all co-star.
Hulu’s series Adults is back with eight new episodes this week! Jump back in with Samir (Malik Elassal), Billie (Lucy Freyer), Issa (Amita Rao), Anton (Owen Thiele) and Paul Baker (Jack Innanen) as they live their best lives together in Queens. Season 2 will welcome several guest stars including Susie Essman, Raven-Symoné, Gaten Matarazzo, Jake Shane, Isaac Powell, Ben Marshall, Zosia Mamet, and more.
In Dark Matter, Joel Edgerton stars as Jason Dessen, a college physics professor in Chicago who lives with his wife Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) and son Charlie (Oakes Fegley). After Jason is abducted – by a mysterious alternate version of himself – he is transposed into a different timeline, one that would have happened if he made different choices in his life. No longer married to Daniela in this version, he spends his time trying to figure out how to get back to his old life. In season two, he assumes things might be returning to normal, but he’s mistaken… The show premieres on Friday.
