Maisie Williams pays tribute to ‘rebellious’ 1999 Sandra Bullock red carpet look for ‘Practical Magic 2’ premiere

The “Game of Thrones” alum, 29, stepped out on the London red carpet Wednesday in a custom Ellie Misner gown in deep oxblood — a stylish homage to an ensemble Bullock, 62, wore in 1999.

The elder star’s boat-neck T-shirt and coordinating silk maxi skirt at the premiere of “Forces of Nature” 27 years ago served as the blueprint for Williams’ look, which featured a corseted bodice and a draped skirt with a train.

“As soon as [Maisie] and I started talking about working together, I knew I wanted to pay homage to her film mother, who has epitomized the rebellious energy of the 1990s that Maisie oozes with herself,” stylist Dino Bonačić wrote on Instagram.

He described the 2026 update as “a snatched corset reflecting the effect of a ruched T-shirt, an even more exuberant wrap skirt with a train.”

Misner — a London-based designer known for her demi-couture corsetry, who has also dressed SZA, Lena Dunham and Tems — collaborated with Bonačić on the custom piece.

Williams accessorized with Bulgari high jewelry, including a rubellite tourmaline necklace whose blood-red center stone matched the gown.

The 5-foot-1 actress added towering Christian Louboutin platforms that Bonačić said made her, for once, taller than co-star Joey King. A tonal satin Roger Vivier bag finished the look.

Her dark hair was pulled into an updo with face-framing pieces, and her makeup was a softened take on Bullock’s original burgundy smoky eye.

Bullock, meanwhile went wild in a cheetah-printed Givenchy gown for the red carpet. Co-star Nicole Kidman wowed in a custom Chanel seafoam green sequined gown with pearl accents while King dared to bare in a sheer custom Miu Miu gown.

For the earlier photocall, Williams pulled a second Bullock reference — a black custom off-the-shoulder gown the Oscar winner wore to the 2006 “Infamous” premiere.

“This time, we pulled from mama’s closet,” Bonačić wrote on Instagram. Williams styled that one with punky brooches, three layered choker necklaces and a chainmail purse dangling from a ring, a nod to a Victorian chatelaine.

Williams plays Antonia Owens, the younger daughter of Bullock’s Sally, in the sequel — a role she described to Fandango as “Sally’s shadow” who has “taken after her mother quite a lot.”

“Practical Magic 2” hits theaters Sept. 18.
