Add The California Post on Google The building is the same. The parking lot is the same. The hot dogs, beer and $8 sodas don’t suddenly taste better when the Rams are playing.
But the price tag certainly changes depending on who is playing.
With the Rams and Chargers scheduled to collide in the preseason on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium, we thought we’d look into the cost for a family of four to attend a Rams game compared with a Chargers game for the upcoming NFL season.
A family of four can expect to spend about $1,627.71 to attend a Rams game during the 2026 season. That same family attending a Chargers game in the same stadium would spend $1,205.83 by comparison.
That’s a staggering $421.88 difference simply based on which tenant is playing.
The Action Network analyzed 539,192 ticket listings across all 32 NFL teams while factoring in food, drinks and parking. At SoFi Stadium, those ancillary costs are identical: $83.51 for concessions and an estimated $95 for parking.
The difference in price comes entirely from the tickets.
Four Chargers tickets average $1,027.32. Four Rams tickets? $1,449.20.
And getting the family through the turnstiles is becoming increasingly expensive for both fan bases. Chargers game-day costs have jumped 29.5% from $931.02 last season, while the Rams’ cost has skyrocketed 37.3% from $1,185.78.
That puts the Chargers $268.72 below the NFL family average of $1,474.55 and the Rams $153.16 above it.
There’s an obvious explanation: demand. The Rams are Super Bowl contenders with a star-studded roster and enormous expectations entering 2026. The Chargers are not far behind with the fifth-best odds to lift the Lombardi Trophy, but they’re overshadowed by the Rams inside their own stadium.
Despite costing nearly $6 billion to build, SoFi Stadium is far from the most expensive stadium to watch a game in the NFL.
That distinction belongs to the new home of the Bills, Highmark Stadium, which is set to open this season. The 60,108-seat stadium (the smallest capacity in the NFL) would cost a family of four $2,193.95, more than $719.40 above the NFL average.
The cheapest stadium is Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, where a family of four can watch the Browns for $823.13, which is $651.42 below the league average.
Soldier Field in Chicago has the NFL’s most expensive four-ticket package at $2,049.80, and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has the most expensive concession prices.
