Enes Kanter blasted by NBA champion over transgender athlete controversy

Add The California Post on Google Jason Williams, the mixtape favorite known as “White Chocolate” and a 2006 NBA champion with the Miami Heat, became the latest voice in hoops to reject Enes Kanter.

Kanter has made headlines in recent weeks by trying to insert himself into the ongoing discourse surrounding transgender athletes’ participation in women’s and girls’ sports.

Williams sounded off on Kanter on the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin'” podcast, describing his actions as a ploy for attention.

“Enes Kanter stupid. F–k he doing, dog? Seriously. Why does he want to play with women? Why does he need attention? Just do a podcast or some s–t. Why the f–k do you want to play with girls? I don’t get that, dog.

“The last thing I want in life is attention. That’s the last thing. I’m not here for attention. If I weren’t here with all you guys, I’d still be somewhere talking about the same type s–t. You know what I mean? So attention, bro. You want to play with girls, bro? The f–k out of here. You’re 6-foot-10, like 270 [pounds].”

Kanter declared himself eligible for the 2027 WNBA Draft after saying he identified as a woman in a video posted to social media. The WNBA said Kanter is not eligible, though he pushed back.

On Sunday, the former NBA player attended the Indiana Fever versus Chicago Sky matchup at Wintrust Arena.

Kanter was escorted out of the game after a heated interaction between him and Sky guard Natasha Cloud.

Williams is invested in big-time women’s sports through his daughter Mia, a softball star who played in the College World Series this past season with Texas Tech.
