Dashcam video showing a man being rammed by a car during an armed street fight has triggered a murder inquiry
2-MIN READ2-MIN ListenIman Muttaqin YusofPublished: 12:43pm, 26 Aug 2026Malaysian police are investigating a killing near Kuala Lumpur as murder after a man rammed by a car died following an armed brawl in broad daylight that was caught on camera – footage that has stirred fresh alarm over brazen street violence in the country.The fight, in which several men were filmed slashing at one another, broke out at around 2pm on Tuesday in the Taman Alam Megah neighbourhood of Shah Alam, police said.
One local man has been arrested in connection with the case.
Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah said surveillance footage showed a group of men fighting before the confrontation escalated.
“CCTV footage showed a group of men fighting before they began slashing at one another,” he said in a statement on Tuesday. “A blue Perodua Alza was also seen hitting one of the suspects, who died at the scene.”
Police have not identified the dead man, describing him only as one of the individuals believed to have been involved in the fight, nor have they disclosed a motive or confirmed any gang-related connection.
