Massive police response after San Jose officer shot

The shooting happened near Lick Avenue and Goodyear Street. The injured officer was rushed to a hospital for treatment. NBC Bay Area Witnesses told NBC they saw an individual down on the ground and raised concerns that a suspect may have barricaded themselves nearby. Police have not confirmed those reports.

Authorities have yet to release the officer’s condition or provide details on whether a suspect was injured or taken into custody.
