Guilty of committing one high-profile mistake in each of the first two Giants preseason games — a missed pass block that left Jaxson Dart vulnerable to a big hit and concussion check against the Vikings, plus an untouched red zone fumble against the Dolphins — Tracy is itching for his next opportunity rather than sulking about how quickly his two-year NFL résumé has been tarnished.

“A lot of people really just see the two bad plays, which is the big news and everything that’s going on right now,” Tracy said after Tuesday’s practice. “But I feel like I had a good game when I watched the film, being really hard on myself. The fumble is a never [acceptable] event. But I feel like I was reading the holes well, my pass protection was correct.”
Tracy has slipped from a bargain ($1.1 million salary cap charge) two-time 1,000-yard-from-scrimmage back and 23-game starter to the roster bubble with the hellish combination of his mistakes, the reemergence of injured Cam Skattebo and the recent addition of Najee Harris.
