Add The California Post on Google 49ers owner Jed York’s life has seemingly unraveled in only a few months — including a divorce with his wife of 15 years and an embarrassing prostitution arrest inside an Ohio trailer park — now, questions swirl about his future with the franchise.
Here’s a look at how everything has changed for York in the last few months.
York submitted his petition for divorce from Danielle Belluomini in Santa Clara County, California on Monday, May 11 at 2:19 p.m..
York stated in his filing that he and Belluomini wed on June 24, 2011, but had split over “irreconcilable differences.”
York asked a judge to give him and Belluomini joint legal and physical custody of their two sons, who are 13 and 10.
He also disclosed he and his longtime wife signed a premarital agreement in July 2011, just weeks after they tied the knot.
Belluomini also wrote that her marriage was over due to “irreconcilable differences” in a response to York’s divorce filing.
York reached out to an undercover ad that was posted by authorities on a website known for prostitution, according to a Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force report.
York messaged the number on the ad, claimed his name was Joe and stated he wanted to “visit the female.”
After the text went unanswered, York allegedly messaged a second time, stating “he was just checking in, and was seeing if the female was available.”
At 9:11 a.m., after both of his messages to the ad were left on read, York again reached out.
He “asked if the female was free, and that he would love to come see her,” officials wrote in the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force report.
York agreed to pay $160 to the woman for sex, and then they set a meeting point at “a mobile home park” in East Palestine, Ohio with “a fictitious lot number,” authorities said.
York was then stopped by police at around 9:35 a.m. shortly after he arrived at the trailer park.
“York had in his possession the $160.00 which was seized,” officials wrote in the report. “A test text message to York’s iPhone revealed that it was the one used to arrange the criminal activity.”
York was arrested and charged with one count of engaging in prostitution and one count of possessing criminal tools.
York reached a deal with prosecutors, agreeing to plead no contest to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct as well as a charge of possessing criminal tools to close out his criminal case.
York was sentenced to one day in jail, but he was given credit for time served. He was also ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.
The Niners released a statement on the case, saying that as it was a legal matter that’s been disposed, they would not offer any further comment.
The NFL, meanwhile, said in a statement it was investigating the situation through its personal conduct policy.
While police were parked outside of York’s Youngstown, Ohio home keeping an eye on the residence, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan broke his silence on his boss’s predicament during a meeting with reporters in the Bay Area.
“I got a lot of respect for Jed,” Shanahan said. “I got a lot of respect for Danielle. Their family does mean a lot to me. With it being this personal I’m trying my very best to keep it that way.”
