Shocking moment Amazon delivery driver attacks elderly man he accused of stealing his parking spot

Add The California Post on Google Shocking surveillance video captured an Amazon delivery driver allegedly sucker-punching a 71-year-old man from behind inside a gas station — all over a parking spot.

The elderly man’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, shared the video from the disturbing incident from March 30 at an ARCO Gas Station in Elk Grove, California when a hot-headed Amazon delivery driver lost his cool over a parking space.

The footage shows the man, wearing an Amazon jacket, aggressively confronting the victim and threatening to “beat [his] a–” before sucker-punching him and knocking him to the ground.

The suspect identified as Terrence Wheeler, 30, of Antioch, faces charges related to felony elder abuse, felony criminal threats and misdemeanor battery, reports KCRA. T

The elderly man is now suing Amazon as well as Wheeler in a civil lawsuit.

The man’s lawyer said that the Amazon driver reacted “hyper aggressively” that led his client to get treatment for neck pain and a concussion.

“We believe the Amazon driver has a history of violence,” said Buzbee, who ran for mayor of Houston, Texas in 2019, but lost to incumbent Sylvester Turner.

He added that “Amazon delivery folks must be carefully screened and trained. Amazon must do better in the hiring process. When Amazon fails, like here, it must be held accountable.”

Buzbee said that the civil case against Amazon is on file in the Superior Court of California, Sacramento County.

According to an Amazon spokesperson, the driver involved in the incident is not an employee of the e-commerce giant and worked with an independent contractor that handled package deliveries for the company.

After investigating, Amazon turned over its findings to the third-party company and banned the driver from delivering Amazon packages, according to ABC News.
