Omar Cooper Jr. threw the ball a mile into the air in celebration after catching an 18-yard touchdown pass to punctuate a practice-ending two-minute drill. Geno Smith, who was 5-of-5 on the drive, looked off the coverage and came to the rookie in perfect timing. A nice lift for Cooper as he battles Isaiah Williams to be WR3.

Both kickers missed from 38 and 43 – virtual gimmes in today’s NFL – as the competition seems to be losing steam from a fast start. Is the Week 1 kicker on another roster right now?
The unmistakable sound of pads crunching and hollers of “Stay off the ground” came as the Jets practiced goal-line situations at the 2-yard line. There were a couple big hits but no hard feelings emerged, surprisingly. Andrew Beck caught a touchdown pass from Geno Smith, while Kene Nwagwu and Chip Trayanum scored on runs.
CBs Nahshon Wright, CB Qwan’tez Stiggers, LB Kiko Mauigoa were limited. EDGE Joseph Ossai, EDGE Kingsley Enagbare and DT T’Vondre Sweat were full participants. It was Stiggers’ first day out of a red non-contact jersey since he collapsed with a concussion.
