Add The New York Post on Google The Yankees will have a fresh bullpen arm for the Astros series that begins Tuesday.
The club is planning to call up veteran reliever Justin Topa, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported, for what would be the righty’s team debut.
The Yankees will need to make space on the 40- and 26-man rosters for Topa. Their active roster includes both recent call-up Bradley Hanner and Sunday call-up Brendan Beck, who replaced the injured Ryan Weathers.

The 35-year-old struggled with Minnesota this season (allowing 17 earned runs in 19 innings) before being released in May. He signed minor league deals with the Blue Jays and Royals, both of whom released him before he made it back to the majors.
The Yankees took a flier on Topa on Aug. 14, and he has allowed one earned run in five innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
