Sunny Hostin Shares Shocking Parting Words For Elisabeth Hasselbeck After Tense Week Of Debates On ‘The View’

Elisabeth Hasselbeck shared a pleasant moment with the hosts on her final appearance on The View, marking the end of an eventful week full of political differences and plenty of shade.

The conservative guest host, who previously hosted The View from 2003 to 2013, is one of multiple celebrities and television personalities filling in for Alyssa Farah Griffin during her maternity leave. And she certainly did not hold back. Hasselbeck clashed with Sunny Hostin several times over ICE and other topics.

But the co-hosts seemed to temporarily bury the hatchet on Friday’s (March 6) broadcast after Hasselbeck praised the ladies for sharing their political takes every day, no matter the consequences.

“She made it through the week!” Joy Behar announced at the top of the show.

“So far, we have minutes to go,” Hasselbeck joked. “This has been my Survivor 50.”

After Hostin pointed out that Hasselbeck had confessed she was feeling “nervous” on her first day back on the show, Hasselbeck told the co-hosts, “It looks easy because you are all wonderful, capable beautiful women. But it’s not. You say one thing and you make 50% of 100% of the population 100% mad at you.”

She continued, “Taking a side on any of these hot issues is not easy, each and every day. So I have a tremendous amount of respect for what you do, having done it for a decade.”

Ana Navarro chimed in to say, “It needs not to matter … The only way this job works is if you’re authentic, engaged and really informed.”

Hostin then shared some parting words for Hasselbeck that came as quite the shock after the week of tense debates they shared.

“That’s what I appreciate about you,” Hostin told Hasselbeck. “Because you believe what you believe and you stand 10 toes down and I can respect that.”

Hostin and Hasselbeck then clasped hands. “Well we’ve had some great conversations here and more to come,” Hasselbeck responded.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
