Shopping From AG1 to Bloom Nutrition: 8 best greens powders we tried that work By Miska Salemann and Sophie Cannon Updated March 6, 2026, 11:02 a.m. ET New York Post Composite Eat your veggies, kids. But for the adults, you can drink them, too.
Greens powders have been popping up all over social media for years, right alongside detox smoothies and prebiotic sodas.
Brands like Beam Greens, Bloom Nutrition, AG1 and Factor Form are everywhere, transcending TikTok and being featured in your favorite podcast ads and local news stations as the “it” drink mixes to try.
However, the idea of drinking your greens has been around for a while, especially with the abundance of juice cleanses and multivitamins available. Since getting in your daily dose of nutrients has always been a struggle for some, it’s no wonder these methods have been so popular.
Over the last few years, we’ve tested our share of the supplement (check our vid below from 2023), so we know a thing or two about which ones are best. However, we wanted to check in with the experts to see what they had to say.
We interviewed registered dietician Jennifer Maeng about everything we could think of when it comes to greens, including the health benefits and risks, With her experience as a dietician, author of two nutrition books, and the founder of her own private practice specializing in gut health, who better to ask?
We also reached out to holistic nutritionist and social media influencer Steph Robinson for all her recommendations on the best greens brands.

AG1 is all over social media and a favorite pick among our editors. The new-and-improved next-generation formula comes in three refreshing flavors with added probiotics and macronutrients designed to support whole body wellness and readiness. Simply add a level scoop to your drink first thing in the morning. Shoppers can save 20% when they subscribe, and score a free welcome kit as well as three travel packs to take on the go.
“The most nutrient-dense,” Robinson said of this green powder. “AG1 is the all-in-one blend of 75 vitamins, minerals, and food-derived nutrients. It also contains probiotics to help support your gut, adaptogens to help with energy and stress levels, and digestive enzymes to support daily digestion. The benefits of this green powder are endless. Some benefits include gut health, immunity support, boosting energy, and helping with recovery.”
She continued, “They are also NSF certified, meaning they use third-party testing and are free of heavy metals, additives, and other contaminants to ensure you’re consuming the highest quality ingredients. My personal pick is AG1 due to covering all bases, being the most all-in-one solution that uses the highest quality ingredients and most intricate, thorough testing.”
Miska Salemann New York Post Review: After hearing all the online chatter about this $79 dark green drink, I decided it was time to give it a go. Not just the original AG1, but the next-gen formula, which combines a multivitamin, pre- and probiotics, superfoods, and antioxidants into one scoop. The instructions suggest mixing one level scoop into 8 to 10 ounces of water on an empty stomach, and I did as follows. Off the bat, I was beyond impressed with the texture. I barely needed to whisk it to achieve the smooth, velvety consistency that you want in a greens powder. The new citrus, tropical, and berry flavors are much more tolerable than the original AG1 (in my opinion, at least). I found them to be sweeter, more balanced, and less bitter. Plop in a few pieces of ice and you have a pretty tasty drink. The labelling is also impressive; supplement facts appear on the back, and it’s easy to discern what type of nutrients you’re getting (besides the few blends and complexes at the bottom). The only real flaw I’ve found with AG1 is the fact that it needs to be refrigerated, and I’m already lacking real estate in that department. However, I consider it a worthwhile sacrifice for a supplement that provides so many benefits.

If messy powders aren’t your thing, Grüns offer a compelling alternative: gummies. These better-for-you packets are formulated to fill all your health gaps. Each serving is packed with whole fruits, veggies, vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, adaptogens, and more essential nutrients. And, unlike powers, you can simply pop these gummies in your pocket and go. No cleanup necessary.
The data speaks for itself. A post-purchase survey revealed that 52% of Grüns users felt more energized throughout the day, and over 67% reported their overall health and well-being had improved after just three months of taking Grüns. Many reviewers have also claimed that these gummies help “satisfy their sweet tooth” and curb typical cravings.
Grüns is also very careful with its testing process to ensure quality. Every batch is rigorously tested for all 21 vitamins and minerals to ensure label accuracy and to confirm that the gummies are free from heavy metals and other contaminants. They’re also made without artificial colors or flavors, and they’re non-GMO. If you’re looking for all the benefits without any of the junk, these gummies are it.
Frank Massaro New York Post Review: Given the veggie- and vitamin-packed ingredient list and dark green color, I was a tad skeptical before trying Grüns. As soon as I popped it in my mouth, I began to understand the hype. These gummies are slightly sweet with just a hint of earthiness, and they’re so easy to chew that I almost forget they’re healthy. I’ve tested plenty of supplements, and usually, I can detect some kind of chemical aftertaste or smell; with these, I couldn’t. They smell fresh, and you can actually taste real ingredients. As for packaging, Grüns nailed convenience. Being able to toss a pack into my work bag saves me time and energy. Honestly, who wants to measure out their green powder and make a smoothie every single day?
I’ve been taking Grüns daily for a few weeks now, and they certainly have helped curb my cravings and keep me from reaching for a bag of chips or a typical sweet treat. On the digestion front, you should expect improved regularity. Just 6 grams of prebiotic fiber goes a long way with these gummies. It might still be too early to say, but I haven’t felt myself bursting with energy yet (however, several reviewers have mentioned that these gummies can help with focus and cognition). All in all, I’m quite impressed. If I can get 60-nutrient-dense ingredients in a single pack of gummies, I’m sold.

If you haven’t seen this all over social media … how?!
Bloom Nutrition was one of the first brands to take over TikTok and Instagram, with it-girls Alix Earle and Xandra Pohl amongst the most popular. If Earle is doing it, I wanted to try it too, so I ordered both the original flavor and the mango version of their greens.
Robinson also seems to agree it’s a top greens powder, especially for those working on their gut health.
“This greens powder contains 30 fruits and vegetables, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and adaptogens with a variety of flavors,” she said.
“This is a low-calorie option only containing 15 calories, with 2 grams of dietary fiber and no added sugars. This greens contains three well-researched probiotic strains with one being fructo-oligosaccharides which have been researched to support and improve gut composition.”
Sophie Cannon New York Post Review: Looking at the package, I liked that it was user-friendly, with instructions for how to mix on the label. Also, looking at the label, key ingredients include four different “blends” — fruit and veggie, antioxidant, digestive, and adaptogen. Included under each are powders like carrot, beetroot, kale, cranberry, tart cherry, and also stevia for some sweetness. During my initial taste test, I did indeed taste some of the stevia, mingling with the greens flavor. It did give off some grassy elements, but it wasn’t unpleasant to drink and would be best over ice.

Factor Form’s Daily Greens supplement is stocked with vitamins, minerals, and superfoods, with zero added sugar. About 88% of active customers have experienced improved gut health and digestion with the Daily Greens supplements, and 75% reported increased energy. Customers generally enjoy the refreshing citrus flavor and notes of crisp green apple, and our tester found that it mixed well into different drinks.
Factor Forms’ Daily Greens Holly J Coley New York Post Review: I’m always looking for ways to increase the amount of greens I eat, so I was excited to learn about Factor’s Daily Green Powder. It wasn’t just that it counted as a serving of veggies that intrigued me, either, but the fact that its ingredient list includes adaptogens, such as Ashwagandha and functional mushrooms. It has notes of green apple and citrus, so it can be mixed in regular water without worry of chugging something that tastes like grass. I liked it best mixed into a protein-infused smoothie. I was happy to learn it didn’t mess with the texture of the shake, and the green apple elevated the overall taste to something brighter and fresher. I haven’t stopped drinking coffee, but I definitely feel energized when I use it, and that’s probably because of its B vitamins. — Holly J Coley, Commerce Deputy Editor

We’re back again, Sakara! After trying their meal kit, we also wanted to try their greens, so here you go.
We tried their Proteins + Greens Super Powder, which were easy to use since there is no need for a scooper. It’s a great choice for on-the-go greens, and each pouch contains 12 grams of plant protein. Ingredients also include peas, hemp seed, pumpkin seed, sesame seed, spirulina, wheatgrass, barley grass, and chlorella.
According to Robinson, Sakara is “The best option for plant-powered greens and protein! With their motto being ‘We believe in the power of plants and everything we do is rooted in honoring plants as medicine’ with 12 grams of protein, alkalizing greens, and detoxifying algae to support lean muscle, satiation, and proper liver detoxification. This would make a great all-in-one plant protein-based solution. And it doesn’t have that typical ‘greens powder’ taste.”
Sophie Cannon New York Post Review: The consistency and look of Sakara was a bit milky and chalkier than expected, making a light matcha-colored drink despite not containing any milk or dairy and only being mixed with water. It was easy to use, but thicker to drink, so we think having this over ice or even blended into a smoothie may be the best, as suggested by the package too.

Robinson has recommended greens powders with a well-rounded list of ingredients, and if there is one in particular that we believe fits the mark, it’s Thorne Daily Greens Plus. Not only is this formula stacked with an assortment of vitamins, minerals, and superfoods, but it also tastes great, according to our reviews.
While the price is on the higher side for some people, Thorne is one of the most reputable wellness brands on the market. It uses quality, researched ingredients and if you were going to include any type of supplement into your routine, we’d recommend going with them. On the back of the jar, you’ll see 28 different ingredients, including a blend of adaptogens, plus antioxidants and vitamins that promote cellular health and increase energy.
Holly J. Coley New York Post Review: I don’t believe you can supplement a bad diet, so I’ve never been one for getting my veggies from a pill or powder. What I like about Thorne’s Daily Greens Plus is it’s not about substituting your diet with anything. Rather, it’s enhancing it through a blend of nutrients that aren’t found in the typical American diet.
I tested Daily Green Plus by adding a scoop (the recommended serving) to my protein shakes/smoothies. I have one every day and try to cram it with everything I can: a few scoops of protein powder, fruit, leafy greens — the good stuff. I was impressed that the powder had a pleasant, semi-sweet smell (it contains mango extract and watermelon powder), as opposed to that ‘earthy’ scent many of these powders have. It didn’t change the taste of my protein shake at all. In fact, I think it made it taste slightly better.
The changes I felt were subtle; more sustained energy and less frazzled being the main two. Since the blend has adaptogens, it naturally elevates the body’s ability to tolerate environmental stressors, which may explain why I was less pissy than usual. Matcha and moringa are also part of the ingredient list. Both give energy without the jitters like coffee or a sugary energy drink.
I’ll definitely continue using Daily Green Plus as long as I have it. Anything that can help combat negative signs of aging (that would be the antioxidants and vitamins), plus minimizing stress is always a good thing in my book. — Coley
Key Ingredients: Vitamin D3, Biotin, Zinc, Matcha, Spirulina, Kelp, Moringa, Watermelon, Mango, Spinach, Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Maitake, Reishi, Shiitake, Ginger, Ashwagandha, More
Robinson is a strong advocate for rigorous testing protocols, and one of the few supplement brands to undergo strict, third-party testing for contaminants and toxins is Cymbiotika.
Cymbiotika’s unique approach to supplements — combining scientific innovation with traditional Eastern medicine — helps deliver quality ingredients that fuel the body. Cymbiotika’s Super Greens formula is made with many high-quality superfoods, and natural plant compounds including chlorophyll, glucoraphanin, broccoli seed, and other alkalizing greens. Not only that, but Cymbiotika Super Greens utilizes sodium copper chlorophyllin, which promotes detox at the cellular level.
Cymbiotika is also distinctive from some of the others on this list due to its unique jelly-like form, which comes pre-packaged for easy access while on the go. The formula can be slurped or mixed into the water. We found this form to be super useful for people who travel often or don’t want to make the mess of mixing powders in the kitchen.
Miska Salemann New York Post Review: I hate pills and have never loved chalky powders, so I was particularly excited to try Cymbiotika Super Greens. In fact, it’s not a powder at all. The greens pouch can be squeezed directly into your mouth for no mess and no fuss. It’s super handy when you’re on the way to work, running errands, or heading to the gym. I’ve tried some nasty supplements in my life, but I was impressed with the Citrus Lime flavor. It’s refreshing, not too strong, and it tastes clean.
In terms of long-term effects, I’ve noticed more consistent energy throughout the day when I take my Cymbiotika Super Greens. Sure, it doesn’t feel like the rush you get from a shot of espresso, but I do feel more alert and enthusiastic about my daily tasks in general. I also love the fact that it offers iron. As one of the low-iron girlies, it’s a super easy, low-maintenance way to ensure I’m getting what I need.

“This collagen beauty greens powder contains a blend of bovine hide collagen peptides, and greens, and also provides vitamin A, hyaluronic acid, and probiotics,” Robinson noted. “With these ingredients, this can be beneficial for your skin, hair, nails, joints, and gut health.”
Each serving size contains two servings of fruits and vegetables, in addition to their Digestive Support Blend, which is made with green banana. The mix also contains, spinach, kale, apple, broccoli, green tea extract, blueberry, and more, with daily value on the label.
Sophie Cannon New York Post Review: The flavor was spot on as green apple, with a sweet aftertaste that wasn’t chalky or powdery. I put it in plain water, but would recommend it over ice for an even more refreshing drink.
