Add The California Post on Google The Los Angeles Rams’ young defensive stars need to take advantage of their natural resources; just ask Houston Texans star edge rusher Will Anderson Jr.
Anderson was spotted during the Texans’ 22-20 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night and was asked about his offseason workouts with Rams superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett.
“It’s been great. I’ve learned so much from Myles, just his work ethic, how he takes care of his body, what he eats, what he does during his off time, and making sure he’s ready for the season,” Anderson said. He’s been like a big brother to me, and it’s been great.”
Anderson just finished his second offseason working out alongside Garrett, and he called the moment a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” for him.
Anderson has been in the league just as long as Rams’ 27-year-old edge rusher Kobie Turner, and has been around a year longer than young interior lineman Braden Fiske.
Last April, Anderson was rewarded with a three-year, $150 million contract extension, after having double-digit sacks in back-to-back seasons.
Fiske is two years away from his contract expiring with the Rams, but Turner is in the final year of his deal and needs to take in all the advice he can get from Garrett if he wants to get a payday like Anderson.
Luckily for Turner, he will have more than just a few weeks of offseason workouts available at his disposal, as he will spend this season lined up opposite of Garrett.

Over the last three seasons, he’s emerged as a key part of the team’s defensive line as he recorded nine sacks during his rookie year, eight the following, and seven last season.
With teams forced to scheme against Garrett, and potentially Aaron Donald, who is mulling over whether or not he wants to come out of retirement, Turner should be poised for a breakout season that will likely follow up with a nice payday.
So far, Turner’s been taking advantage of having Garrett by his side, as he’s been steadily watching him during training camp, and said Garrett can “Do things no one else can.“
