Hunt second in Diamond League 200m as White wins

Amy Hunt followed up her extraordinary week at the European Championships with a second-place finish in the women's 200m at the Diamond League in Lausanne.

The Briton crossed the finish line in 22.32 seconds, edging Nigerian Favour Ofili in a photo finish.

American Kayla White won the race in 22.18 as former world champion Shericka Jackson pulled up on the bend with a leg injury and two-time Diamond League champion Brittany Brown did not start.

Hunt travelled to Switzerland on the back of winning four gold medals at the European Championships in Birmingham last week.

She took gold in the 100m, 200m, women's 4x100m relay and mixed 4x100m relay - becoming the first athlete to win four gold medals in a single edition of the European Championships.

The next Diamond League meeting is in Silesia, Poland, on Sunday 23 August followed by Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday 27 August.

The final meet of the season will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on the weekend of 4 and 5 September.
