Myka Meier Doesn’t Think The Royal Family Approved Of Dara Huang’s Appearance On ‘Ladies Of London’: “Now We See The Result”

Meet The Only Man In ‘Ladies Of London: The New Reign’ ‘Ladies Of London: The New Reign’: What Is The Madam Rumor That Has Everyone’s Knickers In A Twist? Myka Meier is spilling the royal tea. As an etiquette coach extraordinaire who trained under the same staff that taught Princess Diana, Meier entered Ladies of London: The New Reign with kindness and grace. Joining alongside her lifelong best friend, Dara Huang, Meier thought she’d always have an “ally” by her side. She never expected that, by the end of filming only two episodes, she would lose her best friend from both the show and her life.

Huang, an American architect who shares a son with Princess Beatrice’s husband, was the subject of a salacious rumor claiming she was a madam (a woman who owns a brothel). Upon hearing the gossip, Meier went to bat for her friend, dispelling any rumors and fervently defending her honor. When the alleged scandal was brought up at the first cast dinner—and Huang was also outed for speaking negatively about Meier behind her back—the architect abruptly quit the show while cameras were still rolling.

“Even to the end, I always had her back,” Meier told DECIDER when she stopped by our studio. “Unfortunately, you can only help how you react. I didn’t have any control over what she did, only my reaction to it. I was so hurt and I kind of went through this whole range of emotions of gutted, devastated, angry.”

Per Meier’s speculations, there may have been larger matters at play when it came to Huang’s fate on the Bravo show. When asked how the royal family reacted to Huang’s new side gig, Meier said, “I don’t think it probably went over very well.” While she said she “loves” Beatrice, the daughter of the former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, she also believes the Princess and her family “definitely” had conversations about the show with Huang.

“I think she’s wonderful. I love her, I’ve always loved her,” Meier said. “But I think that, you know, I’m sure they had many conversations and [Huang] still chose to do what she did. And I think now we see the result.”

Meier also shared that she and Huang—whose son is also her godson—”no longer speak” as a result of what happened on Ladies of London.

“But I have to say, I am grateful that I don’t have toxicity in my life,” Meier said. “This is something that I think is really important, and I think that friendships go through phases. I’m a big believer of only keeping really positive, wonderful people in your life. And now I can say I have that. And so that’s where I am.”

As for whether she now believes the madam rumors, Meier told us, “I plead the fifth.”

Ladies of London airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
