Jarvis Brownlee Jr. still feeling hurt from Titans trade to Jets

Jarvis Brownlee Jr. still feeling hurt from Titans trade to Jets By Brian Costello Published Aug. 20, 2026, 8:07 p.m. ET PITTSBURGH — Jarvis Brownlee Jr. is still unsure what happened.

The 25-year-old cornerback assumed he was going to play for the Titans for a long time after the team picked him in the fifth round of the 2024 draft. Then, they traded him to the Jets last September, and Brownlee was stunned.

“Some days I’d just be at the hotel and go outside at night and just be sitting there and just trying to come up with why they traded me, why they went with what they did,” Brownlee told The Post. “Still to this day, I can’t come to a conclusion. I won’t lie and say that I’m not still heartbroken by it, but everything happens for the better. I love where I’m at right now. I love this organization.”

Brownlee had an immediate impact for the Jets after the trade. He forced a fumble in his second game with the team and brought an energy to the defense that had been lacking as a nickel cornerback.
