Trump confirms plan to meet with Kim Jong Un — and reveals exactly how many nukes North Korea has

Add The New York Post on Google WASHINGTON — President Trump confirmed Wednesday he plans to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un later this year, the third sitdown between the two across the commander in chief’s two terms.

Trump declined to give a date for the meeting but reports have suggested it could happen in November, when the president is in China for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

“I get along with him, and you know what? The fact that I get along with him-that’s a good thing, not a bad thing,” Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that Kim has “57 very powerful nuclear weapons.”

Past intelligence assessments have indicated North Korea has between 50 and 60 active nuclear warheads, but Trump’s comments marked the first time a US official has given a specific number
