Add The New York Post on Google The Issue: Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher’s claim that shoplifters have a “biological need” to steal. Insanity rules in New York. State Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher has hit a new low for Democrats (“DSA idea is ‘steal’ly bad,” Aug. 16).
It’s devastating for a community to have stores close. The people suffer, and the workers lose their jobs. Corporate doesn’t suffer.
A biological need to steal toothpaste and soap opens the door to a need to steal a TV or a coat. Maybe even a biological need to shoot someone.
Gallagher should be sanctioned. I am ashamed New York has put such a disgusting woman in office. Anarchy is occurring. Wake up!
Allowing shoplifting will cause stores to close due to financial losses. This will permit the government to take over. Socialist mission accomplished.
Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher may very well be the dumbest person ever elected to serve in public office.
She advocates that in some circumstances it’s justified to shoplift. I wonder if she would feel the same way if she had to earn a living working in retail rather than being paid by New York state taxpayers.
New Yorkers who supported and elected this person got what they deserve: an idiot.
Gallagher is a user, a taker and a hypocrite. She earns over $142,000 in salary, yet has the gall to launch a GoFundMe for her cat’s emergency surgery? Did she use GoFundMe to pay for the various tattoos she brazenly sports?
This is a lawmaker who thinks stealing soap and toothpaste should be allowed. No wonder so many are fleeing New York. It is disgraceful.
Now we have Gallagher imparting her wisdom for all New Yorkers to share: Rip off stores for toiletries and other items she sees as biological needs. Does she really think corporate stores are going to absorb the cost of these items? They won’t. Costs will be the responsibility of paying customers.
Gallagher and her comrades would be better off addressing a failed educational system, crime in minority neighborhoods, drugs and more.
A country ruled by law is unacceptable to DSA operatives. Therefore, it must be eliminated in phases. They’ve already started the process.
Handcuff, defund or eliminate law enforcement. Add a rotating-door judicial system with soft-on-crime policies.
Next: Don’t consider stealing necessities to be a crime — and it is not limited to just toiletries.
Assemblywoman Gallagher: If you are committed to this cause, I respectfully suggest that you consider utilizing personal funds to purchase and distribute these items directly, rather than pursuing your current legislative or policy approach.
There is actually an assemblywoman who believes people who shoplift have a biological need to do so, and therefore shoplifting should be legal.
Why should companies make money? I would like to see people explain how one can vote for someone who says this. How do we elect people like this, with these kinds of ideas?
How do people like Gallagher get elected to important positions?
She is a member of the Assembly, getting paid handsomely for part-time work. If she thinks stealing from pharmacies and other stores is right, maybe she should list her address so that someone can steal something that they need from her.
Maybe an IQ test should be required to vote. It’s time to take out the trash from the Assembly.
Hey, crazy lady, here is an idea: If you want to brush your teeth, get a job and buy toothpaste. Does Gallagher want the government to come to people’s homes and put deodorant under their armpits for them?
