Chelsea Green broke her orbital bone on Aug. 7 while teaming with Tiffany Stratton against Fatal Influence, leaving her time with the WWE women’s championship she won at SummerSlam in doubt.

Thankfully, she must not be too far away from an in-ring return if WWE did what it did Friday night on SmackDown in a segment that gave her and general manager Nick Aldis more babyface cachet with the audience — and even got her husband Matt Cardona a match.

They masterfully toyed with the audience’s dread that Green, who is becoming one of the WWE’s top babyfaces, would have to relinquish the title she spent her whole career chasing without ever defending it.
