Add The New York Post on Google It seems to be just a matter of time before Red Bull New York star Julian Hall earns a senior national team call-up.
But whether that will be for the U.S. men’s national team or Poland, which has made an effort to try to recruit the 18-year-old, who is eligible to play for the European nation due to his Polish descent through his mother, remains a question.
And one right now that Hall still doesn’t necessarily have an answer for.
“Especially with the World Cup being here, I’ve had time to think about that and I feel like I’m at a point where I’m still in between,” Hall told The Post at the Red Bulls’ training facility in suburban New Jersey. “I’m still respecting both of my nationalities, and I think they’re two amazing opportunities. I feel like that’s up to the future, and I’m not really right now making a decision.”
The Manhattan native’s 2026 breakout season has catapulted him into the soccer spotlight, scoring nine goals in 18 starts for the Red Bulls during the regular season, which included a hat trick in their May 13 win over the Columbus Crew to become the youngest player in league history to accomplish the feat.

His scoring has slowed down since the hat trick, having not found the back of the net.
“I think obviously scoring goals is my job and I think you know I’ve done a decent job at that,” he said. “I want to score more, and that’s always the goal every single game I go into. And I think something I could work on, the coaches, we talk about just my physical presence and being stronger on the ball.”
The president of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, made a recruiting trip to Hall’s mother in April and Hall’s name was lightly mentioned during the last World Cup cycle before U.S. men’s national team coach Mauricio Pochettino named his final squad for the tournament.
“He definitely should be amongst the player pool for the next generation of players, and he’s proven it here on a day-to-day basis,” Red Bulls head of sport Julian de Guzman told The Post. “We do everything possible to continue his development to push him in that direction, and guess what? He’s working with a coach [Michael Bradley] who has played for the [U.S.] men’s national team as a captain over 150 times, so, I mean, he’s getting the best of the best in terms of his development.”

While Hall did not take part in the Concacaf U-20 Championship — a decision he said that the national team, the Red Bulls and he thought “was best” — the U.S. men’s national team will play friendlies in September and October, before the Concacaf Nations League tournament begins this fall and next year the Concacaf Gold Cup tournament will take place.
The way that Hall has developed, there seems to be little doubt in de Guzman’s mind that Hall will find himself in front of the USMNT staff.
“I would not be surprised if Julian gets called up to a senior men’s national team before the end of this year,” de Guzman said. “I would be very surprised if he wouldn’t be included in the senior men’s national team anytime soon going into a Gold Cup year.”
He added: “These are the opportunities that happen when you do well for your club.”
