Add The California Post on Google Multiple warnings have been issued for popular beaches across Los Angeles on Wednesday due to a silent killer.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued an ocean water use warning because of “elevated bacteria levels that exceed state health standards.”
Beaches affected include the famous Hermosa, Redondo, and Santa Monica beaches.
Any swimming in the designated areas “may increase the risk of illness,” the health department said.
A previous warning for Mother’s Beach at Marina Del Rey has been lifted because testing deemed the area to be within state standards for water quality.
The warnings come as Southern Californians endure the hot summer season and hit the beach to stay cool.
A bacteria warning earlier this month also hit spots in Santa Monica and San Pedro.
