I tried all 8 of Naturium’s bestselling body washes to find the absolute best one

Add The New York Post on Google Let’s cut to the chase: I tested all of Naturium’s bestselling body washes to find the one I’d actually want to keep on my shower shelf.

I’m a sucker for a good, hydrating body wash to showcase on my shower shelf, especially when the formula feels more than a basic cleanser. So when I came across the different varieties of Naturium’s formulas, I was spoiled for choice (which makes sense, as I’m a commerce reporter and professional beauty tester).

With options focused on everything from hydration and barrier support to exfoliation, body acne, odor and glow, I knew I couldn’t pick a favorite based on the ingredient list alone. Hey, my husband has even enjoyed being a sous tester (if that’s a thing) and that’s OK, as long as he doesn’t steal them for good.

Victoria McDonnell After testing Naturium side by side in what was essentially a body wash battleground, I ended up finding my go-to favorite, along with others I’d buy again. Some left my skin noticeably softer, some gave an amazing exfoliating effect and others made the most sense for targeted concerns like clogged pores or dryness.

Here are the eight formulas I tested, ranked by the job I think each one did best.

The Glow Getter was the one I kept reaching for when I wanted my shower to feel a little more luxurious without sacrificing that clean-skin feeling. I loved the way the oil-like formula transforms into a gentle milky lather, and my skin felt noticeably nourished rather than squeaky or tight after I rinsed.

The formula contains 50% glycerin plus linoleic-rich oils and plant-derived squalane, which helped explain why it left my skin feeling so soft and comfortable. My only complaint is that the richer texture can feel like more than I need on especially hot days, but for an everyday body wash, this was the easiest one for me to fall in love with.

I went into testing The Booster expecting a basic hydrating body wash, but the silky gel texture made it feel much more substantial than that. I liked how easily it spread across my body and how soft and supple my skin felt afterward.

It combines hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, seven molecular weights of sodium hyaluronate, 30% glycerin, oat beta-glucan, vitamins B5 and B12, and it’s also fragrance-free. The downside for me is that it doesn’t have the sensory, indulgent quality of Glow Getter, but I’d pick this one when hydration is my top priority.

The Calmer immediately stood out to me for its plush, creamy texture, which made my shower feel more soothing than invigorating. I liked that my skin felt conditioned after rinsing instead of stripped, and the combination of ceramides, colloidal oatmeal, allantoin and cocoa butter gave the formula a distinctly comforting feel.

I didn’t love the relatively low-key lather because I personally enjoy a body wash that feels a little more bubbly, but I’d happily trade that for the cushiony finish when my skin is feeling particularly dry.

The Perfector was my pick when I wanted a body wash that felt like it was actually doing some targeted skin care while I showered. I liked the mild gel formula and the way my skin felt smooth and refreshed afterward, without the tight sensation I sometimes associate with exfoliating cleansers.

Its encapsulated, time-released salicylic acid is designed to gently exfoliate and purify pores while glycerin and linoleic-rich oils keep the formula from feeling drying. For clogged-looking pores and body breakouts, this is the formula to go with, but if you need more moisture, I’d go with The Calmer.

I noticed the biggest difference in how smooth my skin felt when I used The Smoother, which made it an easy choice for my glow category.

The Smoother gives a lovely glow, combining glycolic, lactic, pyruvic and tartaric acids to exfoliate dead skin cells and target rough, uneven texture, and I liked the way it gave my skin that fresh look. I also liked that it’s fragrance-free, but I found myself being more mindful about how often I used it compared with the gentler hydrating formulas because it’s still an exfoliating wash.

The Energizer was the most invigorating body wash I tested, thanks to its cooling sensation and fresh, citrusy-herbal feel. I liked reaching for it after workouts or on mornings when I wanted my shower to feel more wake-up-and-go than cozy and moisturizing.

It uses mandelic acid and fermented sugar cane in a low-pH formula designed to help neutralize body odor, while the cooling effect gives it an extra-refreshing edge. I didn’t find it as hydrating as my top picks, so I wouldn’t choose it when dry skin is the main concern.

The Multi-Peptide Advanced Body Wash had the richest, creamiest texture of the bunch, which immediately made it stand out in my shower lineup. I liked that it left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated rather than overly cleansed, and the formula pairs peptides with a rice amino acid complex, vitamin E and antioxidants to support the skin barrier and soften the feel of roughness.

I didn’t find it quite as instantly hydrating as Glow Getter or The Booster, but I liked it enough to keep reaching for it when I wanted a more elevated, cushiony lather

The Purifier felt like the most skincare-forward cleanser to me, particularly because its gel-serum texture turns into a rich, milky lather as I work it into my skin. I liked how clean and refreshed my skin felt afterward without the stripped sensation, and the formula contains 2% niacinamide, glycerin and a prebiotic complex with anti-odor properties.

I also liked that it’s fragrance-free, which made it an easy option when I didn’t want my body wash competing with the rest of my routine. My only drawback is that I didn’t find it quite as memorable from a sensory standpoint as Glow Getter or The Energizer, but it’s a very solid everyday option.

After testing all eight, I’d say the brand is worth it. From the pump applicator to the way the formulas absorb into the skin, it’s giving spa for $15 a bottle (and they’re *big* bottles).

The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Wash is my overall winner because it gave me the best combination of hydration, a satisfying texture, and that little bit of shower-time indulgence I’m always looking for. I’d pick The Booster when my skin needs extra moisture, The Perfector when I’m focused on body breakouts and The Smoother when I want the smoothest-looking, most polished skin.

The Calmer is the one I’d keep around for dry-skin days, while The Energizer wins whenever I want a genuinely refreshing shower. Naturium has essentially turned the humble body wash into a choose-your-own-skincare-adventure situation. After testing the lineup, I can see why so many of these bottles have earned a permanent spot in people’s routines.

I put eight of Naturium’s body washes through my shower routine and paid attention to everything from texture and lather to how my skin felt immediately after rinsing. I also looked at which formulas felt easy enough to use regularly and which ones seemed better suited to specific skin-care goals. Naturium’s current body-wash lineup includes several of these formulas alongside newer additions, and several are among the brand’s most-reviewed body cleansers.

I still have yet to try the The Multi-Vitamin Daily Nutrients Body Wash(another hydrating option) and The Revealer Sulfur Body Wash (for blemish and redness control), but no fear — those are next on my list.
