Add The California Post on Google The San Francisco 49ers are supposed to be hosting a joint practice against the Tennessee Titans on August 11.
That practice, which arrives two days before San Francisco faces the Titans in their preseason opener, is slated to be at Levi’s Stadium.
The problem is that the 49ers already have 20 players on their roster injured, which makes up for a staggering 22.2% of their training camp roster.

But 49ers assistant head coach Chris Foerster (who’s currently leading the team as Kyle Shanahan continues to recover) shut that narrative down, saying, “We have injuries. We have dings, bumps and bruises, and guys are missing practices. It has yet to come up in anything I’ve heard,” per The Athletic’s Matt Barrows and Vic Tafur.

So it sounds like this joint practice will still go forward as planned—at least as of right now. There’s no telling how many more 49ers players might get injured in the last week, given the rate they’re currently dropping.
The most recent addition to the 49ers’ injury report is All-Pro fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who is sidelined after suffering a broken finger. While this isn’t expected to keep him out of regular season action, it will most likely impact the number of preseason reps he takes.
Hopefully Juszczyk is the last 49ers player to be injured for a while, as unlikely as that might seem.
