When I stumbled upon the new, viral Lululemon Big-Ass Bag 80L, I was shocked, amazed and, admittedly, confused. What could possibly fit inside a nearly 3-foot tall tote?
Apparently, quite a lot. The approximate dimensions of the purse are 1.84 ft × 1.05 ft × 2.72 ft. I was able to carry around the dog I was babysitting, my computer, snacks, a water bottle, a change of clothes and headphones — all at once.
The bag has already caused a stir on social media. Influencer Ashley Marie Frye admitted she was willing to buy it even if just for “research,” despite the high price tag.
“I do love a big bag,” she gushed in an August 5 TikTok video.
Another TikTok user joked, “If you need a bag to fit your children, or even maybe your husband, Lululemon has the bag for you.”
The product has sturdy, padded shoulder straps with silicone grips and a zippered main compartment to contain everything.
There are tons of inner and outer pockets to optimize storage. One exterior zipped pocket is large enough to store multiple tops or leggings in case you need to carry around workout clothes. The second outside pocket has smaller slip pockets and a special water bottle pocket as well.
The recycled polyester and nylon fabrics are water-repellent, so you can adopt this as your beach bag during the final six weeks of summer.
Perhaps my favorite part of this invention is the miniature tote my order came with, which attaches to a webbing loop. I felt silly carrying around a family of accessories, yet at the same time so effortlessly cool.
The Big-Ass bag comes with another separate, smaller tote to store it — as if you’re going to want to do anything but show it off for the rest of the year.
