Ariana Grande ‘likes’ pointed social media message about getting ‘healthier’ amid weight scrutiny

Add Page Six on Google Ariana Grande “liked” a pointed Instagram message about getting “healthier” after announcing plans to step back from the spotlight amid intense weight loss scrutiny.

The post was shared on Tuesday by Terri Cole, a New York-based psychotherapist, relationship expert, and author with nearly 300,000 followers.

In Cole’s video, she applied lipstick in front of a mirror, as a message flashed on the screen that read, “Unfortunately, I can confirm that not everyone will like the healthier version of you.”

“That’s okay. Get healthier, anyway,” the message added.

Cole shared a lengthier message in her caption about how “growth has a way of shifting relationships.”

“That tension can be awkward to deal with sometimes,” she wrote. “There are going to be people who celebrate the healthier version of you…and you might have those who miss the version of you that was stretched thin, keeping everyone else happy + comfortable.”

Cole continued, “Keep growing and prioritizing yourself regardless. You have more strength than you likely give yourself credit for, and every step you take to honor your boundaries is proof of that.”

The psychotherapist noted that “people who are meant to be in your circle will love and appreciate your growth,” instead of “just the parts of you that make everything comfortable or convenient.”

At the end of her post, Cole asked her followers to drop a yellow heart emoji in the comments if they’ve “had a relationship change because you finally chose YOU!”

Grande, 33, “liked” the post but didn’t leave a comment.

Over the weekend, Grande’s rep revealed the “Into You” singer plans to take a “much-deserved break” from her public-facing duties once her “Eternal Sunshine” tour concludes on Sept. 1.

The rep said Grande has dealt with “endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” seemingly referring to the renewed online commentary about her weight and appearance following the release of her “Petal” music video.

A source clarified to Page Six that Grande is bowing out because “she’s been overworked.”

“She’s been nonstop and it’s taking a toll. She’s never handled the public scrutiny well and constant chatter about her weight [doesn’t help],” the insider told us earlier this week.

At her Chicago concert on Monday, Grande brushed off the “negativity” she’s been facing and insisted that “no matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality.”

The “Wicked” star also claimed choosing to temporarily retreat from public life after her tour “was not a reactive or impulsive” decision.

“It is something that I have decided, a plan that I had quietly made a long time ago and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place,” she explained.

A source told Page Six Tuesday that Grande plans to spend her time away from the spotlight with her family, friends and boyfriend Ricky Alvarez.

Grande, per the insider, is “looking forward to having more uninterrupted time” with her former backup dancer, whom she just got back together with after her split from Ethan Slater.

She previously dated Alvarez, 35, from 2015 to 2016.
