Add The California Post on Google Los Angeles Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford is in the middle of his 18th training camp.
Initially, it seemed like Stafford’s wife, Kelly, had to spend her 37th birthday away from her husband. She was posting about being in a Georgia airport with their four daughters on Sunday.
But it now seems that the Stafford family was on a flight back to Los Angeles to see the reigning NFL MVP. And if they weren’t, they surely reunited with Stafford shortly after.
This was made clear by an Instagram post that Kelly made on Tuesday, which showed the entire Stafford family spending time at the Rams’ training camp together.
The post was captioned, “9 years of training camp without kids, 9 years of training camp with them.” One of the posts showed Matthew and Kelly stealing a quick kiss while their kids were distracted playing with his shoulder pads.
Kelly has been candid about Matthew getting tired of missing out on family moments like his daughter’s sporting events, which could contribute to him calling it a career sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, the couple is finding a way to make it work. But there’s no doubt that the Stafford family won’t be able to spend as much time together once the four daughters need to go back to school and the Rams’ regular season begins.
Still, as Kelly’s caption mentioned, they’ve now been at this with kids for nine years, and therefore know what it will take to make it through yet another year.
