Selena Gomez will return as a guest star for the third season as her character, Alex, is trapped in a rift between life and death, while David Henrie is also set to return as main character Justin Russo. More familiar faces from the original series, Wizards of Waverly Place, are also set to reprise their roles this season.
Disney’s synopsis of the final season reads, “Billie, still reeling from losing Alex at the end of Season 2, discovers that the only way to rescue her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father. As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realizes that their combined power is the only way the Russos can defeat the evil plaguing them.”
The third season will consist of four episodes, all airing this evening. The premiere episode also marks Gomez’s directorial debut.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 will be released today, Aug. 4, on the Disney Channel. It will then drop on Disney+ tomorrow, Aug. 5.
