They didn’t walk away with either of those by the 6 p.m. deadline.
The trade deadline came and went with Brian Cashman making just two moves for platoon bats, leaving Yankees fans saying, “That’s all?!”
The more seismic move came late Monday night: The Yankees are set to promote top prospect George Lombard Jr. to play shortstop. The 21-year old is likely to make his big league debut Tuesday night. Anthony Volpe was demoted to Triple-A.
