Mets trade Brooks Raley to Phillies in MLB trade deadline fire sale

The team traded lefty reliever Brooks Raley to the Phillies for righty pitcher Luke Gabrysh and outfielder John Spikerman, who were both at High-A in Philadelphia’s system.

The 38-year-old Raley had posted a 1.96 ERA in 45 appearances this season for the Mets.

The Phillies at 59-53 are desperately holding on to the final wild-card spot in the NL.

Philadelphia also acquired Luis Arraez from the Giants on Monday morning and will put him at first base, while moving Bryce Harper to right field.

The Mets are 47-66 and in last place in the NL East.
