AP Photo/Adam Hunger Sure, Jets training camp has been underway since Wednesday, when the Jets players were on the field together for the first time this summer.
But after two days on the field (Wednesday and Thursday), the players have been off two of the past three days, including Sunday. This has been a nod to the team easing them into camp and taking care of their bodies with long-term performance the focus.

“My job as a coach is to understand the acclimation from the NFL offseason into no pads, then into pads,” Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said. “My job is to get our players ready for the regular season. We had two practices on, then we [brought] it down for recovery, then it jumps back up.”
That jump takes place Monday, when it’s fair to say training camp truly begins, because the players will be in full pads for full contact for the first time.
