Carter Brown, who was the guide on a chartered boat on a river in Soldotna when he spotted the bear on the prowl and started recording.

Brown remained abnormally calm during the nail-biting encounter. The veteran fisherman says dramatic moments like this are “a part of life” in this remote stretch of Alaska.

The video has made the rounds online, with viewers marveling at the bear’s fishing skills and Brown’s unbothered demeanor.
