Add The New York Post on Google More details have emerged from the shooting of Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, with the couple’s son Elijah Zion Bieniemy arrested for allegedly perpetrating the attack.
“Good Morning America (GMA)” released audio dispatch and details from the criminal complaint from the alleged attack Sunday night in Ashburn, Va.
Mia, 57, was hospitalized with “serious injuries,” according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, and reportedly is in stable condition following the attack.
“(A) 57-year-old female reported just shot in the chest and arm, unable to breathe,” the dispatcher said, as heard in a video posted by “GMA.“
The person later said: “Units be advised, the son still has the weapon currently located within the home.”
“GMA” also showed a video from a neighbor’s home capturing three first responders carrying Mia on the sidewalk away from their home Sunday evening, along with one first responder sprinting toward the home and a second jogging toward the residence while carrying what appeared to be a rifle.
The segment also featured another angle of Elijah being arrested, showing him in front of a police car before being seen in handcuffs.
The criminal complaint states that Mia was shot in the left forearm and shoulder with a .22 caliber firearm, with a “portion of a projectile still remaining in her body,” per “GMA.”
Elijah, 27, was arrested and charged for the alleged shooting, being charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling.
He was being held without bond at Loudoun Adult Detention Center as the investigation opened.
This upcoming season will mark Eric’s return to the Chiefs after leaving them following the 2022 season, and he returns to his old role leading the offense.
The shooting happened while he was in Missouri for training camp.
“Our hearts go out to Eric Bieniemy. … Mia is stable, which is a plus,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.
“We all love EB and you hate seeing those things happen. … Real life. You take care of that. She’s a saint, one of God’s good blessings. But things happen.”
