Add The New York Post on Google Dick Scott, the manager of Triple-A Syracuse and a longtime fixture in the Mets’ player-development pipeline, underwent surgery after a cancer diagnosis in his kidney and is “on his way to a full recovery,” the club announced Tuesday.
Now on a leave of absence, Scott will attempt to return to the team before the end of the season.
Scott is in his 13th season with the organization and fourth as manager of Syracuse, where he has worked with countless young Mets from Carson Benge to Brett Baty to Nolan McLean to Christian Scott.
