IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect The Yankees are surveying the market for right-handed bats and are considering Lane Thomas, Spencer Steer (if healthy), Jo Adell, Jorge Polanco and George Springer, among others.
Interestingly, they don’t seem to be pursuing Luis Robert Jr., whom they considered in the winter before re-signing Cody Bellinger, who’s out four to six weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring strain. Robert’s inability to stay on the field most of this season has made them look elsewhere.
It’s funny how things turned for the Yankees. Up until recently, their main target areas were bullpen, catcher and maybe a starter. They’d take another pen arm (every contender would) and they’d love Mason Miller if he’s available. But bats are the real need now.
While their 3.41 ERA tops MLB, they are down more than a run a game since Aaron Judge went out.
