Add The New York Post on Google An oblivious fisherman at Yellowstone National Park was alerted to a behemoth bison creeping up on him after his fast-thinking wife came to his rescue, wild video shows.
Footage from July 19 shows the checked-out trawler casting his rod in a nearby stream as the big bovine is seen approaching the unsuspecting man from the rear.
Kristi Wilt, who shot the video, said she was unsure what to do, afraid the beast might go “charging” into the outdoorsman.
But a quick-thinking driver right behind her had the bright idea to lay on the horn – alerting the fisher to the hulking bison behind him.
“[The vehicle behind us] started honking before we did, alerting the fisherman,” Wilt told Storyful.
She later found out the honker was the fisherman’s wife.
The fisherman was then suddenly brought down to earth by the horn blast – and calmly walked away from the beast “like a boss,” according to Wilt.
“My family cheered as we all felt so much relief in the way he handled himself,” she told the outlet.
The incident comes shortly after another parkgoer, Carl Isom-McDaniel, had an encounter with a bison in Yellowstone National Park – which led to the beast charging him and launching him into the air.
Isom-McDaniel suffered several broken bones from the bison attack.
Yellowstone visitors are required to keep 75 feet of distance between themselves and the beasts, who can run nearly three times as fast as humans.
