Add The California Post on Google A booze-fueled argument exploded into a bloody stabbing rampage in Old Sacramento early Saturday, sending five men to the hospital before the suspects allegedly jumped into a white Jeep Cherokee and took off, authorities said.
The violence erupted just after 3 a.m. near Front Street and K Street, where Sacramento police responding to reports of an assault with a weapon found three men suffering from stab wounds.
As detectives unraveled the chaos, they discovered two more men had shown up at a local hospital with stab wounds tied to the same attack, pushing the total number of victims to five.
All five men were listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon, police said.
Investigators arrested 18-year-old Sacramento resident Ezekiel Griffis after identifying him as a person of interest in the case. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on assault charges.
Police initially detained three people of interest in the aftermath of the violence, but later released the other two. The investigation remains ongoing.
Investigators believe alcohol and a verbal confrontation sparked the mass stabbing before the suspects fled the scene in the white Jeep Cherokee, According to The Sacramento Bee.
