Add The California Post on Google A YouTuber learned an important lesson in film and TV production etiquette in Los Angeles when he stumbled across the set of Apple TV Plus’ “The Studio.”
Yung Mooch, who boasts 134K followers on Instagram and 558K subscribers on YouTube, posted a video on Friday dubbed “Los Angeles is Falling Apart,” where he wandered around the City of Angels, interviewing random people about their lives.
He eventually made his way to Venice Beach, where he ran into Hollywood stars Seth Rogen and recent LA exile Jonah Hill, who were filming Season 2 of “The Studio,” though they were not met warmly.
Mooch ran up to Rogen and Hill, who were both seated on electric scooters, and said, “How are you doing? I just wanted to say hi,” but Rogen immediately replied, “No! We’re working!”
He came up to Hill and gave him an awkward fist-bump and asked the actor, “Any advice you got for anybody trying to make it in LA?”
Hill shook his head and said, “Just enjoy your life, be a kind person,” when a crew member arrived to try and get them to leave.
Another member of Mooch’s crew swooped in to take a selfie with Hill as Mooch moved to Rogen, recognizing him and saying, “Oh s–t, how are you doing?”
“I’m good. Please, can you give us a little space?” Rogen said, but Mooch pressed on and asked if he had any advice for anyone trying to make it in LA.
“I would say don’t f–k with people when they’re trying to make their show,” Rogen said, while swatting his hand at the streamer, trying to get him to move on, adding, “That’s probably not a good idea.”
Rogen continued, “That’s the best advice I can give,” but Mooch persisted, asking several times for “one advice,” adding Hill complied, when an exasperated Rogen finally said, “Be yourself.”
Mooch finally moved on, walking away from the actors, telling his audience, “Look at this, y’all. We just caught a mid-movie production. This is Los Angeles right here, get this.”
The video — which Mooch admitted in an Instagram story post from Friday took, “4 days to film & 16 hours to edit” — cut to to the streamer meeting up with fans on the beach before heading to Beverly Hills and Hollywood.
Production started on Season 2 of the Apple TV Plus hit comedy series back in March, with a slew of new guest stars spotted on the Venice Beach set such as Madonna, Michael Keaton, Julia Garner, Donald Glover, Channing Tatum and Mario Lopez.
Rogen and Hill were spotted wearing the same costumes earlier this week in Venice Beach, riding around on those electric scooters.
Rogen co-created the series with longtime writing/producing partner Evan Goldberg, along with Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory and Frida Perez.
The show follows Rogen’s character, Matt Remick, a new Hollywood studio head as he tries to make a name for himself and take Continental Studios to new heights.
The Studio Season 1 earned a record-tying 23 Emmy nominations, with a record-breaking 13 wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Rogen.
The California Post reached out to reps for both Rogen and Hill for comment on the incident.
