8 dead, including 6 kids, in ‘suspicious’ Michigan house fire

Add The New York Post on Google Eight family members, including six children, were found dead in a house fire in Michigan, puzzling investigators and prompting law enforcement to label the blaze “suspicious.”

Callers phone 911 and reported white smoke emanating from a home around noon on Friday.

When first responders arrived at the Grand Haven Township home, they were able to douse the flames — only to discover the bodies of eight unidentified family members, according to FOX17.

Firefighters were in the area earlier that morning after reports of the smell of smoke between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., but weren’t able to locate the source, the outlet reported.

The neighborhood containing the 14900 block of Riverside Trail, where the blaze broke out, appears to be an affluent area with large pristine homes.

The fire remains under investigation and detectives and arson investigators remained at the scene Friday evening.

Fire officials said they will release more information as it becomes available.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
