Paramount+’s extended Star Trek universe series Strange New Worlds returns for its fourth season today, July 23, as the franchise gears up to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Set in the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series (1966-1969), Star Trek: Strange New Worlds follows Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the starship Enterprise, including Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) and Spock (Ethan Peck).
It has the same episodic tone as The Original Series, as the crew goes on one-off missions and episodes take on different genres.
In a teaser released at San Diego Comic Con 2025, the cast and crew revealed that one of the episodes will follow the crew of the Enterprise as an accident turns them all into puppets. The felt lookalikes were even crafted by the Jim Henson Creature Shop.
This ten episode season will not be Strange New Worlds‘ last, but the end is near: the show was renewed for a fifth and final season, which will consist of just six episodes, in June 2025.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 premieres on Thursday. July 23.
New episodes will be released on Paramount+ at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET each Thursday through September 24.
