After hitting theaters in late May, “The Mandalorian and Grogu” is now available to stream at home from on-demand platforms like Prime Video.
The first new Star Wars movie in six years is a continuation of “The Mandalorian,” a Disney+ original series that premiered in 2020, introduced the world to Baby Yoda (a.k.a. Grogu) ran for three seasons and established Pedro Pascal as a star.
Pascal returns here as The Mandalorian Din Djarin (though you hear more of him than you see, as Djarin still adheres to the Mandalorian Creed and wears a helmet), who is working for the New Republic with Grogu to hunt down neo-imperialist warlords of the former Galactic Empire.
The film follows Din and Grogu as they are enlisted to rescue Rotta the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White), Jabba’s son, in exchange for information on a target they’re seeking.
In his review of the sci-fi action flick, The Post entertainment critic Johnny Oleksinski wrote, “the film’s relative modesty comes as something of a relief. Freed from the burden of canonical responsibility, it’s flighty fun — a Western-y space mission that’s commenced and neatly wrapped up inside of two hours.”

“The Mandalorian and Grogu” is available for digital purchase on Prime Video. The film costs $29.99 to buy or $24.99 to rent.
While you won’t have to be a paid Amazon Prime member to buy “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” you will need at least a free Amazon account; that way, you can return to watch “The Mandalorian and Grogu” whenever you want to.
If you choose the rental option, you’ll have 30 days to begin watching the movie and 48 hours of access once you’ve pressed play.
While you can stream “The Mandalorian and Grogu” at home now, some may prefer a physical alternative to owning movies digitally, because there’s always the chance that rights may be revoked and you’ll lose that digital access.
Physical discs are tangible proof that, as long as you have a player to play them, you’ll be able to watch the movies you own.
“The Mandalorian and Grogu” will be released as a 4K/UHD Blu-ray Steelbook, a Beskar Collector’s Edition Steelbook and a regular DVD on August 25, but you can preorder today.
Additionally, “The Mandalorian” series directors Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa and Lee Isaac Chung appear in various roles throughout the movie.
