It’s an SNL reunion over on Netflix this week: Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon are co-starring as exes in the new show The Hawk, which is co-written by former SNL writer Harper Steele. The series, about the attempted comeback of a washed-up pro golfer, is out now. Love sports but want more of a drama than a comedy? Check out They Fight on Hulu, a based-on-a-true-story boxing film starring André Holland as real-life coach Walt Manigan. Also arriving this week is Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, the newest film in the popular Descendants film series on Disney+, and Curry Barker’s hot horror Obsession, about a man who makes a wish that unfortunately comes true, is now on Peacock.

Will Ferrell stars in the new Netflix sports comedy The Hawk as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, a professional golfer whose career is waning, but he refuses to retire. Molly Shannon plays Lonnie’s ex-wife Stacy, Jimmy Tatro is Lance, Lonny’s son (and new professional rival), and the cast also includes Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, and Chris Parnell. The first season of the comedy series arrived on Thursday.

In the new Hulu original film They Fight, Moonlight actor André Holland stars as Walt Manigan, an ex-con who is newly-released from prison and starts coaching a trio of scrappy young boxers at a Washington D.C. gym. The film, based on the 2018 documentary of the same name, co-stars Wendell Pierce and Samira Wiley and arrives to Hulu today.

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is the fifth film in the Descendants franchise, and this one features Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker reprising their roles as Red and Chloe, the daughters of two royal icons, the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella, respectively. This film picks up where the last one, The Rise of Red, left off, as Red and Chloe realize that when they altered the fabric of time in that film, they created a new foe, Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam).
