“K-Pop Demon Hunters” had a McDonald’s Happy Meal. Eli Roth‘s new slasher film, “Ice Cream Man,” is going with what the horror director calls a “wild and demented” collab.
Roth and Irv’s Burgers, the vintage LA chain with seven locations, have hatched a limited-time collab for Roth’s ice cream-centered fright fest. Log line? “An idyllic summer town descends into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results.”
An “I-Scream Carnival” at Irv’s La Brea location goes down on July 18, featuring food, giveaways, photo ops and Roth, too.
“I began my career making home movies splattering ketchup for blood, so it’s only appropriate to celebrate I-Scream Day with my favorite burger place in LA. The team-up is a wild and demented combo indeed, yet a most delicious one,” Roth tells us. “I really hope I don’t wind up in the dunking booth full of ketchup, but if I do, it will be a full circle moment. It’s going to be wild and fun, with tons of collectible giveaways and a mouth-watering chili dog / shake combo they created just for us to celebrate the release of ‘Ice Cream Man.’ If you’re in L.A. do not miss it.”
The “I-Scream Chill(i) Cheese Combo Meal,” available through Aug. 9, is not for the gastronomically timid either — it’s a chili cheese dog topped with crushed Cheetos, plus crispy fries and a vanilla shake finished with a strawberry puree drizzle and whipped cream.
Guests can also score limited-edition “Ice Cream Man” merch like custom hats and exclusive mini posters available at all Irv’s locations, ahead of the film’s Aug. 7 release.
It’s Roth’s first film under his The Horror Section banner, following the company’s launch in March 2025. An upcoming slate also includes “Don’t Go In That House, Bitch!,” with Snoop Dogg as producer, writer and performer on the soundtrack.
