One of the hottest horror releases of the year, “Backrooms,” is now streaming on-demand from platforms like Prime Video.
The psychological horror flick comes from 21-year-old director Kane Parsons, who turned his viral YouTube horror series “The Backrooms” into A24’s latest hit. It took in $81 million in its opening weekend and is up to nearly $350 million at the worldwide box office.
“Backrooms” follows Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a furniture store owner, and Mary (Renate Reinsve), his therapist, as they discover a dimension of endless liminal spaces accessed through the store’s basement.
In his three-star review of the “disquieting and smart” movie, The Post’s entertainment critic Johnny Oleksinski wrote, “This is an undeniably exciting and actually quite sophisticated horror flick, and a fantastic bow for Parsons. There are far, far worse rooms you can walk into at the movie theater than ‘Backrooms.'”
“Backrooms” is streaming on-demand on platforms like Prime Video now! The “Backrooms” digital release date is today, July 14.
“Backrooms” is available for digital purchase on Prime Video. The film costs $24.99 to buy or $19.99 to rent.
