The star striker gave an update on Thursday after asking to be substituted in the World Cup quarterfinal against Morocco one day before.
“I’m all good. I got a knock on the ankle, but it’s all good. [Jean-Philippe Mateta] was more able than me to play the last 15 minutes,” Mbappé told reporters after France’s 2-0 win.
Mbappe went to ground and received treatment before being subbed off in the 77th minute for Mateta of Crystal Palace.
“Kylian had a slight ankle issue; he was feeling some pain,” France coach Didier Deschamps said afterward.
The 2018 World Cup winner walked off the field on his own accord, applying ice to his ankle while on the bench.

Sources told ESPN “there are no concerns” about Mbappe’s ankle.
Any worries were eased as he looked as lively as ever celebrating on the pitch and in the locker room after the game.
Regardless of the injury, Mbappe had a roller coaster of a game against the African side.
He missed a penalty in the first half, but made up for it with a brilliant shot to give France 1-0 lead in the 60th minute.

France controlled the game the rest of the way, winning 2-0 thanks to an Ousmane Dembélé goal.
“I have great players. It’s good. It was complicated today. Missing the penalty and the chances we didn’t convert makes things difficult,” Deschamps said. “Kylian reacted well and scored. We are exactly where we wanted to be. We are going to recover well and watch our next opponent [on Friday, either Spain or Belgium].”
Mbappe has been on a tear once again this World Cup, leading the Golden Boot race with eight goals and three assists.
He and France will reach their third straight World Cup final should they win their semifinal match up.
“We are very happy. We are aware that there is only one way to relax, it’s to win. But we still have a long way to go. We know that what is coming next will be even harder but we are ready to face anything,” Mbappé said.
“We will recover nicely and watch the game tomorrow to see who we will face.”
