Conor McGregor making first-time sacrifice ahead of UFC return — wife may not be happy

Add The New York Post on Google The Notorious celibate is coming to an octagon near you.

Conor McGregor revealed ahead of his return fight with Max Holloway this weekend at UFC 329 that he would be back in the octagon without having had sex for the first time in his career.

“I’ve practiced abstaining also in this camp,” McGregor said Wednesday. “It’s the first time I’ve ever done it – from any type of physical touch, if you will.”

McGregor would get along swimmingly with Knicks owner James Dolan, who jokingly told his team to go celibate at the beginning of their magical NBA Finals run to help give them an extra edge.

The Knicks ultimately downed the Spurs in five games in the Finals.

“You don’t have to give up sex for the next 10 weeks, but like Spartans — do you know what Spartans are? — they denied themselves to gain an edge. Get the edge,” Dolan told the team before the playoffs.

McGregor returns to the UFC on Saturday for the first time since July 2021, when he snapped his leg in an ugly injury that forced him to get emergency surgery and ignited a lengthy rehab process that has since generated lots of criticism.

Reports recently surfaced that McGregor took banned substances to get himself back into fighting shape, with even head NFL doctor Dr. Neal Elattrache being quoted by the New York Times.

McGregor took himself out of the drug testing pool to help shield him from any restrictions to get him more testerone to recover quick and fuse the bones together.

The famous fighter has not been very active in the fight game, having fought just four times since 2016.

McGregor has also dealt with multipe lawsuits alleging sexual assault and even lost a case in civil court to Irish women Nikita Hand, who claimed McGregor raped her in December 2018.
