Add The New York Post on Google Jordan Henderson appears to be in good spirits after undergoing surgery on the severe wrist fracture that knocked him out for the rest of the World Cup.
“Surgery done! Now let’s get ready for the big one Saturday,” Henderson wrote on Instagram, thanking the Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute staff and the three doctors who performed the operation.
Before undergoing surgery, Henderson, who did not appear in the match, also posted a message celebrating England’s dramatic 3-2 win over Mexico at Azteca Stadium.

Earlier this week, Henderson’s father, Brian, revealed the painful extent of the injury in an interview with the Daily Mail.
“It’s his left forearm — he’s just completely smashed it,” Brian told the outlet. “He’s going to have a cast on and then it depends on what the experts say.”
The elder Henderson also revealed that his son will be staying in the states as long as England’s World Cup hopes are alive.

The England midfielder slipped and landed awkwardly while trying to climb an advertising board following Sunday night’s win.

Henderson was taken off the field on a stretcher and given oxygen before being transported to a hospital in Mexico City.
“I’m sad because Jordan injured his wrist. It’s quite serious,” England manager Thomas Tuchel said after the match.
Earlier during this tournament, Henderson became the first English player to appear in four World Cups.
England will take on Norway in the quarterfinals at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday.
