Page Six Hollywood can exclusively report that Duff will perform a song for Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s “The Cat in the Hat” film, which hits theaters on Nov. 6.
The track is aptly titled “Catastrophe,” though we’re not sure how the “Mature” singer will stylize it (“Cat-astrophe?” “CATastrophe?” Anything is paw-sible).
The Dr. Seuss adaptation stars funny man Bill Hader as the titular feline, and also features the vocal talents of Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang and Tituss Burgess.
“Cat-astrophe” comes during a hot streak for Duff, who released her critically acclaimed album “Luck…or Something” in February, her first record in over a decade.
She then embarked on the “Small Rooms, Big Nerves” tour playing small venues, before kicking things up a notch for her larger “Lucky Me” tour (which makes its LA stops at Inglewood’s Kia Forum this week with La Roux opening).
Duff also recently graced the cover of the famed “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit issue, where she was in good company alongside fellow cover girls Alix Earle, Tiffany Haddish and Nicole Williams English.
“The Cat in the Hat” film is part of a larger shared universe at Warner Bros. animation, dubbed the “Seussiverse,” which will also feature a 2028 film adapting “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
